Revelation? Naw, just an observation.

Wed Mar 29, 2006, 3:21 PM
So I've realized that all of my poems, whether or not they were intended to be sad, have a tinge of sadness to them. Maybe this says something about my character, or my mood, or whatever, but I was thinking: How many poems written today aren't sad?

Seriously, if you perused the poems on this site, I bet half of them would deal with not fitting in, or not being loved, or something angsty like that. Granted, a lot of the poems are probably written by teenagers (myself included) who have no other way to express themselves, which therefore translates to angst, but it's still kind of interesting to think about.

Kinda sad actually.
Someone should write a poem about it.

tip their fedoras to you and thank you for the :+fav:

Ah, it's true. So many sad poems to write about. Because sad tends to be a much easier natural resource to find. Everyone knows sad. It's like digging for coal. But every now and then you do come across those gems of funny and happy too.

Sad's not a bad thing either, especially if the writing is an outlet for that. Can't keep the sad in you or it makes you...well, sad, I guess.
